In this video, Shawn begins building the custom wooden battery boxes for Olivia’s new LiFePO4 battery bank.
Before any wiring or electronics, we focus on the foundation - the design, construction, and cell compression needed to properly support lithium batteries in a marine environment. Shawn explains the reasoning behind the box design, gives credit the original inspiration from Off Grid Power Solutions out of the UK, and shares the changes he made to better suit our installation aboard Olivia.
