পোড়াদহ মেলা। বাংলাদেশের সকল প্রাচীন মেলার মধ্যে এই মেলা অন্যতম। বগুড়া জেলা সদর হতে ১১ কিলোমিটার পূর্বদিকে গাবতলী উপজেলার পোড়াদহ নামক স্থানে এই মেলাটি প্রতিবছর মাঘ মাসের শেষ দিনের কাছের বুধবার এই মেলাটির আয়োজন করা হয়। জানা যায়, এখন থেকে চারশত বছর পূর্বে মেলা সংগঠনের স্থানে একটি বটগাছ ছিল, হঠাৎ সেখানে একজন সন্ন্যাসীর আগমন ঘটে। তারপর সেখানে দলে দলে সন্ন্যাসীরা আশ্রম গড়ে তোলেন। হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন প্রতিবছর মাঘ মাসের শেষ দিনের কাছের বুধবার সন্ন্যাসী পূজার আয়োজন করেন। দূর দূরান্ত থেকে ভক্তরা প্রতি বছর সেই দিনটিতে এসে সমাগম হতে থাকে। দিন গড়ানোর সাথে সাথে লোকসমাগম বাড়তে থাকে। আস্তে আস্তে পূজার দিনটিতে একটি গ্রাম্য মেলার গোড়াপত্তন হয়। এক সময় সন্ন্যাসীরা স্থানটি ত্যাগ করে চলে গেলেও পূজাটি অব্যাহত থাকে। ধীরে ধীরে মেলাটির পরিচিতি বাড়তে থাকে এবং দূরদূরান্ত থেকে মেলা দেখতে লোকজন আসে। পূজা পার্বণ মূলত হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের উৎসব হলেও মেলাটি ধর্মের গন্ডি পেরিয়ে সব ধর্মের মানুষকে উৎসবে একত্র করে এবং অদ্যাবধি কাল পর্যন্ত এটি সকল ধর্মের হাজার হাজার মানুষের এক বিশাল জনসমাগম ও প্রাচীন মেলার তকমা নিয়ে প্রতি বছর আয়োজিত হয়ে আসছে।

Poradoho fair. This fair is one of the oldest fairs in Bangladesh. This fair is organized every year on Wednesday near the last day of the month of Magh at a place called Poradah of Gabtali upazila, 11 km east of Bogra district headquarters. It is known that four hundred years ago there was a banyan tree at the site of the fair organization, suddenly a monk arrived there. Then groups of monks built ashrams there. Sannyasi Puja is organized by the Hindu community every year on the Wednesday near the last day of Magh month. Devotees from far and wide come to gather on that day every year. As the day progressed, the crowd increased. Gradually a village fair was established on the day of worship. Once the monks left the place, the puja continued. Gradually the fair grew in popularity and people came from far and wide to see the fair. Although Puja Parban is primarily a festival of the Hindu community, the fair brings together people of all religions across religious lines and till date it has been organized every year with a huge gathering of thousands of people of all religions and the style of an ancient fair.
