Is Your Christianity Real — or Just Comfortable? | Revelation

Описание: It's possible to be financially stable, spiritually comfortable, and completely useless to Jesus — all at the same time. The most dangerous place to be as a Christian isn't in open rebellion. It's in self-satisfied drift: full life, empty faith, and no idea anything is wrong.

In Revelation 3:14–22, Jesus writes to the church in Laodicea — a wealthy, self-sufficient city that needed nothing from anyone. And the church looked exactly like its city. Jesus confronts them not with anger, but with grief: "You are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked — and you don't even know it." He isn't outside their city. He's outside their church. Standing at the door. Knocking. The faithful and true Witness tells the truth about us even when we've stopped telling the truth about ourselves.

The gospel answers self-sufficiency with a paradox: the only way to receive what you need from Christ is to come with nothing. Jesus paid it all — true riches, a covering for your shame, sight for your blindness — not through a transaction, but through total dependence. He stepped off his throne, lived a perfectly faithful witness, died in our place, and rose as the beginning of God's new creation. The door is open. He's still knocking.
