Cost of Queensland’s Bruce Highway upgrade revealed

Queensland Premier Steven Miles and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese have insisted the state and federal governments can afford to host the 2032 Olympic Games.
This is despite the desperate need for major funding for the Bruce Highway.
“Modelling from the state government shows that $9 billion would need to be spent in order to bring every stretch of that road, Cairns all the way down to Brisbane, up to a minimum of three out of five-star rating for safety,” says Sky News Queensland political reporter Harry Clarke.
