Why top CEOs make more than 1000x as much money as the average person

Описание: Tesla CEO Elon Musk's net worth grew by over $2 million by the end of this video. Elon Musk's net worth increase in 2021 was estimated at $121 billion. But his compensation package in 2020 was actually well below some other people on this list.

One of the top CEOs earned over $350 million in 2020. Imagine getting paid over $350 million dollars in one year. You wouldn't even be able to finish the first sip of champagne after midnight on New Year's Eve before earning more than the average American family would make ALL YEAR.

How did CEO pay increase so fast over time? And why haven't workers wages kept up? The ratio of CEO pay versus worker pay has exploded over time. It used to be a ratio of 31 to 1 back in 1978, but has since exploded to 351 to 1.

What do you think? Do CEOs get paid too much? (Other than the extreme outliers?) What would be a better way to determine compensation for CEOs?
