I explore the topic of death and enlightenment looking at death beyond the physical body and into the death of the egoic self. I explore how death meditation can help us directly see that what we truly are is beyond the body and mind. When we hear the word death most of us think of the death of the physical body. I would like to expand this to also talk about the death of the egoic or phycological self. We fear death because we fear the loss of the egoic or psychological self. We will explore how the realization of the deathless can help us overcome our attachment to the physical body and mind, which in turn releases our fear of death and enables us to fully enjoy life in each moment. We will Through concrete practices, we can transcend the egoic mind and physical body and realize the deathless. The video concludes by discussing how directly seeing the deathless is enlightenment.
