Our albergue in SJPDP, Gite de La Porte was wonderful & we set off in the rain after a nice breakfast.
This is a steady climb but but not difficult. There was quite a long stretch of very rocky mud, where you have to watch every step as it was kind of steep. It rained off & on the entire day. Really foggy up near Orisson and you could not see anything at all. Fog finally lifted early evening and we got some beautiful sunset photos.
Borda is fantastic. Great beds, dinner, hot showers & friendly host.
Highly recommend staying here. We were in a room with just 4 single beds, with curtains and our own WC and shower. You get a coin for 4 min. in the shower, but this is plenty of time. If you are walking this stretch, book your bed here as soon as they open reservations each year. You will be glad you did.
