Hello, Besties! I hope you all are safe at home under quarantine or self isolation. Bless you where ever you are viewing this from. Today I would like to bring you this extremely easy deep fried yeast bread recipe which is very common in many countries including the land of the brave. Its goes by different names but here in the mother land we call them oukuki AKA puff puff, Fatcakes, Vetkoek,Amagwinya, African doughnuts.
They are so indulgent at times o feel guilty having them. Honetly i dont know if there is a healthy way to cook them and if you do let me know in the comments how its done so o try it out.

Serving Suggestion: 20 balls
Preparation Time: 45 Minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Yield: 15
🎂Extremely Basic Oukuki-Vetkoek Recipe
Ingredients:
4 Measuring Cup Bakpro VetkoekFlour
150g Of Marathon Granulated Sugar
15g Fine salt
10g Active Dry yeast
750ml vegetable Oil
700ml purified water (350ml warm and 400ml cool)
Equipments:
Whisk
Spatula
2 measuring jar
Mixing bowl
1 Reserve mixing bowl
Cake tester or Sosatie stick
Kitchen Tissues
Directions:
🎂 Activate the yeast by combining 300ml warm water, 75g sugar and 10g Active dry yeast.
🎂 Mix all the dry ingredients togather
🎂Combine all the the dry and wet ingredients togather to form a smoth but slightly firm dough
🎂Cover and leave the dough to rest for 45 minutes in a warm place
🎂Beat the dough down
Heat your stove to max (6) for 4-5 minute before bringing it down to medium temperature (4)
🎂Mould the dough in medium sized balls and drop them in the hot oil untill they are cooked golden brown
🎂drain the oil by placing them in a bowl lined with kitchen tissue paper
Fill the Vetkoek with filling of your choice or curry mince, kapana-salsa, porsie chips/warm chips or jam
🎂You can also enjoy them with your favourite stew (Dip and eat) or with tea/coffee
