THE THAKHEK LOOP in Laos.
We embarked on a 3-day, 2-night journey along the Thakhek Loop with little expectation of being able to complete it. With such a short amount of time and countless breathtaking sights to see, we weren’t sure it was possible. But with two excited hearts and a spirit of adventure, we made it happen!
Day 1: From Thakhek to Nakai (60 km), we stopped at the serene Thafalang and explored the enchanting Thamnang Ene Cave. We stayed overnight at Guesthouse SAYNAMYOM in Muang Yommalath.
Day 2: From Nakai to Konglor Cave (200 km), we marveled at the stunning Nakai Plateau, admired the Sandstone Buddha rock sculptures, and ventured deep into the legendary Konglor Cave. We spent the night at Konglor Resort.
Day 3: We soaked in the views from The Rock Viewpoint (with thrilling ziplines!), visited the Laos-Thailand Friendship Bridge, and explored The Giant Wall before returning to Thakhek.
