Story: Sam meets Elena, the two fall in love, blah, blah, blah. Sam tries to keep his past from Elena, (hunting life) but Elena knows that he's keeping things from her & it bothers her. She eventually has to let him go because she knows that Sam being a hunter is making him incapable of living a full life with her. A week later, she gets into a car accident and drowns. Sam is already back with Dean, learns of this, and eventually goes to the crossroad Demon to make a deal w/out Dean's knowledge. Dean is not happy, and he already dislikes Elena for pulling Sam away from the hunting lifestyle. This pushes him to hate her. Sam gets Elena's body from her grave and waits for her to wake up. She eventually does, but Sam already left w/Dean, knowing that if he stayed he would put her in danger again.

also, I feel like these two would be perfect together. I know the huge pairing is Dean&Elena, and I really don't get it...? I feel like Dean wouldn't be able to put up with Elena. She's a very emotional person, a very strong person, but the way she thinks and makes decisions is everything that Dean is shown to not like. The way that Elena makes her decisions is extremely similar to the way that Sam does. I just feel that Dean would never be able to understand what really drives Elena as a person. Sure, they'd be cute together, but I feel in the long run they'd never last? Sam and Elena seems much more realistic to me. Their ambitions are the same, their values are practically identical. They both have always longed for that normal life/attempted to get that normal life that they will never have, and are somehow derailed by supernatural occurrences/loved one's deaths. Sam - his girlfriend, Elena - her parents. Sam - his brother drags him into hunting. Elena - two vampire brothers drag her into the "supernatural" world. And on a side note, they'd make the cutest brunette babies ever.
