Union Minister Piyush Goyal has reiterated that India will not rush into signing trade agreements or accept conditions that restrict its trading choices. India is currently in active talks with the EU and the US on trade deals.

"We do not do deals in a hurry and we do not do deals with deadlines or with a gun to our head," said Piyush Goyal.

Trade agreements should be viewed with a long-term perspective, and India avoids making rushed decisions. The country is also exploring new markets to manage high tariffs and diversify trade.

"I do not think India has ever decided who its friends will be based on any other considerations other than national interest… I won’t accept limits on working with any country," added Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce & Industry.
