156 km North of Riyadh, roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes drive from the city, you will find the desert of Dahna where a so-called by the local media "Alaibil Festival," which simply means "Camel Festival" is celebrated.

Welcome to ALAIBIL FESTIVAL! The largest camel festival in the world that is celebrated throughout the entire month.

The camel beauty contest is one of the highlights of the festival where prizes reach to almost 120 million Saudi Riyals, that's around 31 million US dollars.

Thousands of owners and herders traveled with their camels to join the said contest. It is indeed taken very seriously resulted for some of the camels to have BOTOX procedure. Yes, guys, you heard it right! Botox procedure to make their camels more beautiful.

I am not sure what physical features of a beautiful camel are, but some of the criteria are the broad face, enormous nose, and dropping lips to win the beauty contest. That is why owners spent money on Botox for their camels. But this kind of trick is now strictly prohibited. If found out, owners and their camels will face serious violations. Another criterion for judging is their color, from darker black to brown, red, beige and white.

Camels are more motivated and cooperative in the morning; hence the contest is held from 8 am to 10 am every day. Unlucky us, we arrived at the site in the afternoon, ended up missing the competition.

Meet Kazama. The multi-million dollar camel in the Kingdom, owned by Al Dawaser tribe. According to the website gdnonline.com, Kazama was worth 35 million riyals, roughly 9.3 million US dollars. But last year, Kazama was found dead in the desert and price dropped to 1 million riyals. Kazama is believed to be one of some unique camels in the kingdom, and that made her famous and costly.

It's Noel here! A very New Content Creator. I’m from the Philippines and currently working in Saudi Arabia. I am now enjoying creating videos from my random activities -vlog, food, travel adventure, reaction video, etc.

I still have to learn a lot of things though!😅 For now, I am watching and getting ideas from my fav Youtuber like Peter McKinnon, Parker Walbeck, Brandon Li, etc.
