We sample not one but two gelaterias, stop at the famed Mortadella Lab, and try local street food staples like tigelle and piadina. And of course, we couldn’t leave Bologna without a proper meal of lasagna bolognese and tortellini at a cozy osteria.

Many of these dishes are beloved across Emilia-Romagna, one of Italy’s richest culinary hubs and the region Bologna calls home.
