In Episode 30 of The Crew Diary, I show my work life on board a cruise ship, without going ashore — only real behind-the-scenes moments of a cruise ship crew member.
I start with a travel talk in Russian, where we explain to guests everything about disembarkation, luggage collection, payments, and say goodbye at the end of their cruise.
I also visit the HR office to discuss a possible department change — from reception to duty-free shops on board.
You’ll see a crew party in a guest area (which doesn’t happen very often), and a full working day in port manning while the ship is in Doha. During free time at work, I study Italian, go to the warehouse (magazzino) for office supplies, and take part in a Costa Careers photoshoot for advertising cruise ship jobs.
At the end, I pass an Italian language test (B1) to officially register my language level at reception.
This episode is fully about cruise ship work life, showing what crew members do when they can’t leave the ship.
