I’ve been working on my own soundtrack to a hypothetical Deltarune Chapter 6 for a short while, and I wanted to share this final boss theme.

In this chapter, Rudy would be transported to the Dark World, which temporarily cures him of his illness.
Noelle, knowing her father will die when the Dark World is sealed, blocks the Fun Gang’s way to the fountain. (More details below if you want more context!)

As for the music, I’m honestly really happy with how it turned out. The idea started when I thought about how cool it would be if a hypothetical Noelle battle theme integrated the actual hymn “The First Noel” in some way, and then it grew from there. It’s definitely not perfect though. The song isn’t very cohesive structurally and sounds more like 4 or 5 ideas stitched together. It also sounds a little too similar to Hopes and Dreams in some places (the guitar rhythm is exactly the same), but I thought it sounded cool, so I went with it.
The sample during the final 45 seconds is from the song “Sunset” by Caroline Polachek. I actually found the original song by accident when searching for Sunset of Seven Suns from Chapter 5 lol
Anyway I really like the post-chorus vocals in that song, so I decided to integrate it into my fan-made soundtrack. In the full soundtrack, this sample/melody will be used a lot, and will represent the relationship between Rudy and Noelle. Hopefully, when listening to all of the songs in order, it will be satisfying to hear the epic, fast-paced rendition heard here after most of the songs use it in more of a low-tempo way.

Making the visuals here was pretty tricky, especially making accurate speech-bubbles for the characters. In the end, I modded the actual game to include my custom dialogue, and then added a giant green layer underneath the speech bubbles, and chroma key'd it out, leaving the bubbles by themselves with a transparent background. I then manually created the rest of the scene in Premiere.

I don’t plan to release any more songs from the soundtrack until I’ve finished all ~25 songs though. I have a fun format planned for when I’m finished😊
