The official TRON: Ares soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross) dropped on September 20, and wow, it does not disappoint. Reznor and Atticus deliver another dark, powerful, and cinematic score that perfectly fits the TRON universe.
I’ll be honesty, I do miss the Daft Punk vibes from TRON: Legacy, since their music gave that film such a unique identity. But as a longtime NIN fan, I can say TRON: Ares hits hard and feels like a natural evolution. It’s atmospheric, industrial, and absolutely badass.
I can’t wait for the movie on October 10. While it’s more of a soft reboot than a direct sequel to Legacy, I’m still hoping it does well. And maybe one day we’ll see the return of Sam, Quorra, Tron, Beck, Mara, and Zed.
Here’s to hoping TRON: Ares finds success so the franchise can keep growing.
