The way I like to define the difference between KW Command Tasks and Activities is that Tasks are “to-do’s” and Activities are noteworthy interactions.

You can create a new task from a contact record or by accessing the tasks applet from the left-hand column.

From the Contact Record, click Tasks (right-hand side of the record towards the top) and + Add Task.

Keep in mind that any task entered will appear on the contact record tasks and in your dashboard.

When you click on the tasks applet in the left column, you can open the Tasks dashboard. You can sort your tasks by the date due and filter by contact tasks and opportunity tasks.

Creating a Task from this dashboard is the same as creating a task from a contact record except you’ll notice a button to assign a contact. Since you are in the general dashboard, the contact is not present as it is when you assign a task from a contact record.

An activity is a noteworthy interaction. While you can create a future event, it does not add it to your tasks. It simply makes a note.

In my opinion, this is best used to note a two-way communication that occurred.

You can note a future meeting, but using the calendar and tasks would be more efficient to use as reminders and scheduling.

To Create an activity from a contact record, click the blue plus sign at the bottom right-hand corner.
