Mohaka Rafting Expedition - North Island, New Zealand

Описание: This was a fantastic trip, originally intended as a remote 3 day exped starting from the upper Mohaka River on the North Island of New Zealand in Jan 2025. However the weather disrupted the required helicopter access the first day and so the MR team came up with what may even have been an even better plan. The first day we did the solid Grade 3 Te Hoe section downstream of Mohaka base and then once the weather had turned for the better we did a condensed version of the exped in 2 days and one night. The first day was probably the best rafting fun, but the upper Mohaka is wild and beautiful as well. Low water meant a bit of grounding on the last day or so, but the hot pools helped sooth those sore muscles. I'd been looking forward to this trip for sometime and it finally fell right to head over to Napier and get it done. Highly recommended and the team at Mohaka Rafting did a great job adapting to get the best out of the weather. Thanks Lucio and team.

Trip stats were:-

Day 1 - Grade 3 mid-Mohaka Te Hoe section (19km)
Day 2 - Grade 2/3 upper-Mohaka to Mangatainoka (10km)
Day 3 - Grade 2/3 Mangatainoka to Pakaututu Road (17km)
