Описание: Patto Bridge, a historic Portuguese monument in GOA, INDIA, built in 1635 connecting Panjim with Ribandar Village, Baklae Baba Temple is Exactly on the middle of the Bridge. The bridge is the extension of the causeway known as Ponte de Linhares that is about 3.2 kms long and is considered to be one of the longest bridge in South Asia. The story behind the temple goes like this...Baklae Baba used to sit on the middle of the bridge for months, years. He will not talk to anyone, eventually people started praying him as Baklae Baba. The administration tried to remove him several times, he used to come back and sit there on the middle. As per Arjun, one of the caretakers/beneficiary of the temple says even during war they tried to destroy the bridge, by bombing and the bridge, with Baklae Baba survived that bombing. It will be interesting to note that GOA, which was under the Portuguese rule for more than 400 years didn't completely change the people and beliefs which remained Indian.
