U.S. crude exports reach record high as Middle East supplies tighten

U.S. oil exports hit a record high last week as buyers in Asia and Europe sought alternatives given the supply disruptions in the Middle East.
According to The Financial Times crude oil shipments soared to 5-point-2 million barrels per day UP over one million barrels compared to the week prior.
Exports of refined products including gasoline also jumped to some 7-point-5 million barrels a day.
The British daily added that the current demand from overseas buyers for U.S. crude may further drive up energy costs for the average American consumer.
