Nancy Richardson shares a wide-world-made-small by sailing, ships and the sea. Her story started when Nancy was a Brownie Girl Scout, inspired by Captain Irving Johnson’s lecture on his and Exy’s 4th World Voyage and the annual ‘June Cruise’ sails with Mariner Girl Scouts. As a lifelong educator, she's worked with Tall Ships America, Girl Scouts of USA, National Marine Educators Assn, LA Maritime Institute, Sail Training International, US Coast Guard Reserve, and currently increasing Ocean Literacy.
So far, she's sailed 107 tall ships and all seven seas…perhaps a world record! As Nancy will tell you, ‘You can count ships, but it’s shipmates and teamship and leadership that count!
This presentation traces her life and contributions from Antarctica to the Arctic, pursuing "Adventure and Education Under Sail.”
