In this video, I write the name "Aya" in two forms:
🖌️ Aya – in my newly learned English calligraphy style
🖌️ 阿雅 – in traditional Chinese brush calligraphy
This is part of my English Name Series, where I explore how common names are written and visualized across cultures and scripts.
I started this series because a friend of mine in the United States wants her kids to learn their Chinese names—so I decided to write them down. I figured many others might also be curious about what their Chinese name would look like.
I’m still new to English calligraphy, so every stroke is part of my learning journey.
I know there’s still a lot of room for improvement. With continued practice, I hope my strokes will become more delicate and fluid, and the overall composition more harmonious. If you think you write your name better than me, you are very welcome to teach me how to write your name better.
