I tested a variety of capacitor and resistor values for the Kinman treble bleed mod, which has long been my favorite. However, this time around, with my testing being more rigorous than usual, I stumbled upon an incredible combination: .0047uF + 236k. This is a significant deviation from the standard recommendation of a .0012uF capacitor and 125k resistor.
To my ear, this is the most neutral/natural/consistent/true sounding treble bleed I've heard. I can't detect any decrease or increase in treble compared to what it sounds like with the volume knob on 10. It all stays the same as you turn it down.
Thanks to my friend and former psychology teacher Doug. This is his guitar and it was my pleasure working on it!
