Mongolia 2018, beginning of the Wandering Warrior

Описание: Those weeks in Mongolia were pivotal. I learned a lot about myself, and began to see where I could direct my life. It felt almost home. Maybe I was from here, in a past life, long ago... This trip cemented my conviction to begin this life as the Wandering Warrior.

I had always looked up to #ᠪᠥᠬᠡ #bökh #монголбөх and what impressed me was how important it, #MongolianWrestling , is to the culture. It is fucking DEEP in the society, identity, spirit of the Mongol people. Wrestling there is a martial art, it is shamanistic ritual, a way up in society, it is bonding, it is entertainment, it is so many things... Wrestling that when all told produces some of the best throw based wrestlers in the world. Dominant and adaptive, Mongol Bökh.

Looking back and reflecting.. Now with more life spent and more experiences... I've concluded that...
(1) Wrestling is the foundation to empty handed martial arts, for me.
(2) A vibrant, self-sustaining culture is far more important than dogmatic and strict lineages.
(3) Embedding deep values in your practice, and integrating your martial arts practice into lifestyle - a must.
