The New Testament apostolic model for effective ministry can be summed up in five words: build, govern, father, send, and equip. The New Testament five-fold apostolic church consists of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, all working together to equip you to be effective and make a difference with your life.

The Bible clearly outlines the role of the Chief Apostle and the 12 Apostles of the Lamb in the New Testament. Christ is referred to as the Chief Apostle in Hebrews 3:1, where He is described as “the one whom God appointed as high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.”

The 12 Apostles of the Lamb are described in Matthew 10:1-4, Luke 6:13-16, and Acts 1:13-26.

The New Testament also outlines the role of transitional apostles, such as Paul, in Acts 9:15 and Galatians 1:1. Paul was called by the Lord to be an apostle to the Gentiles, to preach the gospel and to bring the Good News to the world. The Bible also mentions the role of modern apostles today. In Ephesians 4:11, Paul wrote about the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. He explains that this five-fold ministry was established to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and to build up the body of Christ.

The New Testament apostolic model for effective ministry is found in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

This passage emphasizes the importance of going and making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded. The New Testament model for effective ministry also emphasizes the importance of building relationships, governing the church, fathering, sending, and equipping. By following this New Testament model, Christians can effectively minister to others and make a difference with their lives.
