The El Camino Ranch Riding Academy taught 100’s of students to ride, love, and respect horses during its operation from 1986 up until its closing in 2013.
All of the lesson horses selected for the program were seasoned pros with tons of experience in being patient with children, traveling, and showing. With the acceptation of a few ponies and miniature horses, most all of the horses were Arabians, many of them bred by LaVesta and born at El Camino.
The passionate instructors of the ECR Riding Academy (both two and four legged) helped to lay a solid foundation for many budding equestrians who later went on to do do great things both in and out of the show ring.
During the Summer months the Lesson Academy would host a series of week long Summer Camps where campers would learn the basics of horse care, horseback riding, and safe equine FUN! The last day of camp family and friends were invited to watch a performance by the campers followed by a party. 50+ people could easily be in attendance for these shows. Many campers had their first of many horse experiences while attending our camps.
