Businesses today increasingly depend on timely, accurate data collection and analysis. OLAP and stream processing promise to deliver much-needed analytical results with low latency. While both target real-time analysis, there are some differences that merit mentioning.
During this panel, we tried to understand better the typical use cases where OLAP systems do better than streaming, and vice versa. We addressed the potential for OLAP and streaming systems to merge in the future, as well as how both technologies will evolve.
