In Shed 5 the lighting is less than optimal and there is no climate control, maybe only rudimentary heating. Still, tucked away in here are two diamonds amongst all the rough. We can see two wonderful examples of MLW Canadian built locomotives featuring the ALCO designs of classic first generation Diesels both engines are vintage 1959 built in Montreal and sport the Canadian National yellow and green. This is the original paint scheme.
MLW RS-18 road switchers were used into the 1990s on CN, and beyond on short line railroads that bought them second hand. The passenger FP-4 would last through the CN zebra stripe era and eventually become dressed in Via Rail Yellow and Blue, similar to the EMD F -9 in the main building. They were workhorses of the Corridor until LRC trains in the latex1980s forced their retirement.
