On the occasion of the existence of an old and completely decayed monument of WWI fallen pilots in Thassos island, Greece; the director Despoina Pantazi following her instinct and the stories of the locals, made a journey into the past to reveal to us through the historical documentary "The Knights of the Aegean Sea" one of the most important military airports of the Allies in the First World War in Thassos island, Greece.
On this journey, which lasted over three years (2011-2013); the director together with devoted members of the research team, brought to light very rare findings, with the most important being the discovery of a Sopwith Camel F1 Aeroplane, a fact that aroused worldwide interest.
"The Knights of the Aegean Sea" reveals a hidden aspect of History, about the unknown action of the Kazaviti Airport during the First World War in Thassos, the first Greek heroic aviators and the way we honor them today, as well as the importance of knowledge of History.
