Why won't my diesel engine shut off? This is one of the most common emails we have received over the years. People often just ask us to send the part to fix it. Unfortunately, it could be a number of things causing the problem and may not just be one "part." To fix it you first need to understand how the engine is stopped in a 1975 to 1976 W115 300D and all the 1977 to 1985 240D 300D 300CD 300TD and 300SD. In this video Kent will explain the key components, how the shut off mechanism works (on the bench) and then explain the tools and resources you may need to fix it yourself.
