France is set to reintroduce a limited form of military service as concerns grow over a possible confrontation with Russia.
More than 25 years after ending conscription, the new plan will see young men and women volunteer for around ten months of paid military training.
Announcing the move at an infantry base near Grenoble, President Emmanuel Macron said the country must be ready for any threat, declaring, “The only way to avoid danger is to prepare for it.”
Speaking with The Henry Jackson Society's Andrew Fox, Talk's Mark Dolan says: “Should we do the same?!"
