With a focus on restoring family support and protection for rescued girls,
Centre For Enhancing Democracy & Good Governance, in collaboration with UNFPA Kenya, held a reintegration engagement at Chesta Girls Rescue Centre in West Pokot County, drawing participation from vulnerable girls fleeing FGM across the county.
The forum convened over 980 girls, alongside their parents and guardians, national and county government officials, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders. Through guided sessions led by counsellors and mentors, the girls and their families were taken through life skills, mentorship, and open discussions on the harmful effects of FGM, with a focus on healing, prevention, and safe reintegration into family and community life.
