Bob Ross Cake Decorating with Buttercream!

Описание: I wanted to try my hand at some Bob Ross cake decorating with buttercream! I grew up watching The Joy of Painting and still love it. So I whipped up a vanilla cake, gave it a smooth coat of Swiss meringue buttercream and got to work! Even though you're using brushes and palette knives, this isn't so different from any other cake decorating you'd try at home. You have to chill the cake before to get to work making all those happy trees and you'll want to mix up a bunch of colors/shades of buttercream so you can apply colors where the need to go on and then do minimal blending on the cake. I thought thislandscape cake was going to be much harder than it actually was. Painting is really relaxing and if you make a mistake you can just scrape it off! Would you feel guilty cutting into this? I usually have no reservations about slicing into a dessert but this almost felt like cake art. I solved the problem by bringing it to a friend's party.
