With Housing and Living Costs at an all time high leading to unprecedented numbers of British people unable to afford their daily expenses resulting in record breaking homelessness on our streets. More people than ever are leaving the UK or looking for an alternative lifestyle compared with the one they have become used too. There is a rapidly growing trend across the UK, there are over 400 intentional alternative communities scattered across the United Kingdom. A recent report shows applications to join these types of communities have risen by over 500% over the last 5 years? In this documentary we investigate the huge rise in British people looking for a different way of life. In this Documentary I spend time at 2 of the UK's most famous Alternative Communities both in totally contrasting situations with the authorities.
As part of my investigation I was invited into an infamous community in the heart of Somerset in the famous town of Glastonbury that is currently in the last stages of an eviction by the local authorities, with many residents facing homelessness in the next few days. This community has received a lot of interest both good and bad from the Media and local residents.

Finishing the Documentary I head to the most well known alternative community in the UK, Rockaway Park is located between Bath and Bristol in the United Kingdom. This community was born from the movement that gave us world famous artists, performers and festivals such as Banksy, Massive Attack and Boomtown festival. I was given a guided tour by the man behind this community as I questioned what it takes to built an off grid community.
