Parasnath Temple which is said to be the world's largest pilgrimage site for Jains.Parasnath mountain is the highest mountain in Jharkhand.And it is also considered as the world's largest pilgrimage site for Jainism.The height of Parasnath mountain is situated at a distance of about 10 kilometres.People come from all over the country and abroad to visit the Parasnath temple.Parasnath hill is located in Giridih district of Jharkhand.If you have not yet visited the Parasnath temple, then definitely come once.

Parasnath Hill or Shikharji at a height of 4,480 feet is an important Jain Tirtha where 20 of the 24 Jain Tirthankaras attained Moksha. The site is also called Sammed Śikhar "peak of concentration" and is located on Parasnath Hill which is derived from Parshvanatha, the 23rd Jain Tirthankara.

It is located in Dumri, Jharkhand, 25 km away from Madhuban. To reach the temple, the pilgrims have to pass through the Madhuban Forest with the parikrama around the holy site being about 54 kms. The earliest reference to Shikharji as a tirth is found in the Jñātṛdhārmakātha.

"Save Shikharji" is a protest movement started by Jain sects against the state's development plans for commercializing Shikharji. With an aim to boost tourism, the state government is hoping to improve the infrastructure which the community argues will devalue the site's sacredness.
