STORYLINE:
Contestants prepared to strut their stuff on Friday in Thailand's Miss Tiffany beauty contest, an annual competition fashioned after the Miss World beauty pageant.
But it was no ordinary contest - the pre-requisite for all beauty queens was that they had to have been born male.
The first Tiffany beauty contest, named after the venue, was held in 1998 and has since become an annual event drawing tourists and stage performances.
The finals of the 2006 Miss Tiffany's Universe competition, an annual beauty pageant for transvestites and transsexuals, are held in Pattaya.
Miss Tiffany 2006 will be crowned on Friday night.
