British Food Culture (or LACK Thereof)

Описание: The UK doesn't really have a good reputation when it comes to food. It's often described as soggy, bland, overcooked and visually unappealing. Let's dive into the reasons why!

In theory Britain should have everything it needs to create quality dishes. Good climate for growing crops and raising cattle, a variety of cultures to draw inspiration from, and long traditions of cooking. So how come the food is so bad despite all of that?

In this video I go through some popular and not-so-popular hypotheses about why British food is bad. The most common theory is that it has to do with World War II rationing - but that's probably not the full story.

Another theory is that British people are too repressed to enjoy preparing food. In fact, some people suspect that British people are too sexually repressed to fully enjoy the experience of cooking. Sounds strange? It is a strange theory - but maybe there's something to it after all...

I also go into examples of horrible food from the UK. Everything from fish 'n chips to shepherd's pie, and onwards to haggis, fried Mars bars and a lot more. With a special mention of Marmite; that vile and horrible substance that some strange people actually eat.

To finish off the video, I also discuss British beer. That's something that no one can complain about at least - right? Right?
