The main benefits of concrete are that it’s “low skill” (some people are amazingly skilled at concrete, but it’s perceived as low skill) and having an easier time with inspection /permitting.

Stone foundations are traditional and can last hundreds of years, even over a thousand.

Concrete and rebar on your average home…it’s not going to be around hundreds of years from now.

Yes stone foundations can take maintenance. But that’s life for you. Concrete foundations need maintenance, too.
