In this trip we travel in our motorhome to the stunningly beautiful Elan Valley in Powys, Wales, UK where we visit the Victorian dams and reservoirs that have supplied Birmingham with fresh water for over a century. There is parking at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre where you will find a shop, toilets and cafe. We stay at the Wyeside Camping and Caravanning Club site, which is located in Rhayader and is just a few miles from the Visitor Centre.
There are four dams on the river Elan; Craig Goch, Pen y Garreg, Garreg Ddu and Caban Coch. The river Claerwen has the newest and largest Claerwen dam.
