বাস্তব জগতের প্রতিচ্ছবির ওপর ডিজিটাল ছবি এবং উপাত্ত বসিয়ে তৈরি করা হয় অগমেন্টেড রিয়ালিটি (এআর)। এর উদাহরণ হলো পোকেমন গো।


গুগলের অর্থায়নে ২০১১ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত ম্যাজিক লিপ এআর গ্লাস নির্মাণের পেছনে প্রায় ২৩০ কোটি ডলার খরচ করে। এরপর ২০১৮ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি তাদের এআর হেডসেট বাজারে নিয়ে আসে। ডিসপ্লে, অডিও এবং বাহ্যিক ক্যামেরা সেন্সরযুক্ত এআর হেডসেটের দাম ছিল দুই হাজার ২৯৫ ডলার।

পণ্যটি বাজারে ছাড়ার সময় প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রধান নির্বাহী রনি আবোভিটজ ছয় মাসে এক লাখ পণ্যের বিক্রয় লক্ষ্যমাত্রা নির্ধারণ করেন। কিন্তু দেখা যায়, ছয় মাসে মাত্র ছয় হাজার হেডসেট বিক্রি হয়েছে।
