Llama Haircuts and New Baby! - Ep.21 - Llama Life

Описание: Welcome back to another exciting episode Llama Life! Today Beau, Kirstin, and Wade Baty are taking care of a of a few chores around the ranch. First on the list is giving haircuts to our female llamas. As the weather warms in the spring we give our llamas haircuts. You wouldn’t want to wear a winter coat in May would you? While Kirstin is giving haircuts, Beau is trimming llama toenails.

Then its time to load the female llamas to go to the new pasture. Getting all these girls in the tailer is a tough task! Once all the llamas are in the new pasture they immediately begin to explore the new property line.

When Beau and his 10 month year old son Wade return to the “old ranch” Beau notices that one of the momma llama’s is in labor. Blanca is over a month and half over due but luckily she passes this little llama baby with no problem. Beau also explains how to properly “help” a momma llama when she is giving birth. After all our llama babies are born, we give them time to be alone with their mothers to bond. Usually during this time the baby llama will learn how to stand on its own. Then its time to weight and measure the baby. We do this so we can keep track of the llamas growth and if there there could be anything wrong with it. The baby weighed 35.6 pounds which is good!
