Vaala is a municipality in Finland.It is located in the Northern Ostrobothnia region.Established in 1954 , the municipality has a population of 3,069 and covers an area of 1,763.95 square kilometres of which 461.45 km2 is water.The population density is 2.36 inhabitants per square kilometre .
