Fully automatic tracking as used here often fails to keep reliably the identity of individuals as they cross each other, or when they disappear from the field of view of the camera. However, the traces of ants that are not too close to their neighbours nor to the border of the image, nor to the nest are reliable enough to provide meaningful information on the movement of ants.
