Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!
Idk about you guys, but I am TOTALLY NOT ready for it to be Christmas and I find it hard to believe this video is already almost a year old now! (Time flies the older you get, doesn't it?)
However, the time is here and to celebrate, I figured we'd do so with a video REVISITING the Historic Smith Tower, Seattle's Oldest Skyscraper, 5 YEARS after my first video in 2018!
Since my previous video in 2018, the elevator modernization by Thyssenkrupp to the Historic 1914 Otis Elevators has been completed, but not much else has changed here overall. I wanted to make this video however to get a more in depth video showing the exhibits and other aspects of the tower, so I definitely hope you guys enjoy the tour!
At 42 floors and 462 ft tall, the Smith Tower may be tiny compared to other High Rises in Seattle now, but it still offers some of the BEST Views of the city, and for a much lower price than the Space Needle! Of course, no trip to Seattle is complete without a Space Needle visit, but coming here is a must as well, albeit for totally different reasons! The architecture here is absolutely GORGEOUS and stepping into this building feels like a trip back in time in so many ways! I can't recommend visiting this place enough!

Installed in 1914. (Manually Controlled Birdcaged Otis)

1st Modernization: Circa 1990s. (Partial Modernization by Fujitec with New Controller and EPCO COP. Motors, Lanterns, Cranks, Cabs, Gates and everything else left original)

2nd Modernization: 2018 (Full Modernization by Thyssenkrupp with New Motors, New Controllers, New Doors and Innovation Universal fixtures. Cabs left original as well as the Cranks but they no longer work)
