China-Pakistan "Warrior-9" drills boost counterterrorism ties

Описание: The China-Pakistan "Warrior-9" joint counterterrorism exercise concluded at Pakistan's National Counter Terrorism Centre in Pabbi on December 12, after over 10 days of intensive training that kicked off in early December.

The drill featured mixed-unit operations by PLA and Pakistan Army troops, covering missions like joint counterterrorism elimination, mountain clearing, hostage rescue and joint fire strikes. Its final phase included a full-scale live-fire exercise, where the two sides launched land and air operations with diverse unmanned equipment to carry out reconnaissance, blockade, area clearing and deep-penetration manoeuvres against simulated targets.

Chinese participants highlighted smooth tactical coordination, mutual learning of combat experience, and seamless multi-front coordination with Pakistani military and local authorities to ensure the safe withdrawal of Chinese troops starting on Sunday. Additionally, the two sides held case studies, equipment displays and cultural exchanges, which further deepened the friendship between the two militaries.
