'When to start homeschool? What Age is Best?' That is the question on the lips of many new homeschooling parents. And it is a relevant one.
After all, homeschool is not school at home. Homeschool has its own particular type of at-home learning system.
Homeschool gives families all types of freedoms and flexibilities. And so parents also have the right to decide when homeschool starts.
This said, there's a lot of pressure to start children at age 5 or 6. Is this just led by parents who want to go back to work and need a babysitting service? And hence, has this become the norm...although it's not the BEST age to start homeschool?
Many homeschool parents think so and so do I.
The Moores, homeschool advocates, suggested not starting formal education until age 12. Would that make you feel uncomfortably insecure? It's a question to ask yourself...
