The Department was established in 1995 with a B.Tech. Chemical Engineering programme. Since then, it has evolved into a full-fledged unit offering B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. programmes. These programmes focus on the fundamentals of core chemical process engineering and technology. The Department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, a cutting-edge industry-relevant curriculum, and excellent computational facilities. The faculty members are highly qualified, with doctoral degrees from premier institutions, and actively collaborate with researchers in India and abroad. Current thrust research areas are Environmental Science and Technology, Bioprocess Engineering, and Computational Process Engineering. The Department has an excellent record of publications in peer-reviewed high-impact journals and has many patents to its credit.
