Ombudsman has 35 flood control cases in court, 166 under probe

Описание: The Office of the Ombudsman has filed thirty-five cases in connection with corruption investigations. Those cases include alleged anomalies in flood control projects. Ombudsman Crispin Remulla gave the update during the deliberations of the Senate Committee on Finance on the Ombudsman’s proposed 2027 budget. Remulla said thirty-one of the cases are pending before the Sandiganbayan while four are before Regional Trial Courts. Another one-hundred sixty-six cases are undergoing preliminary investigation. Remulla said the Ombudsman needs more personnel, particularly investigators. He said additional personnel will help accelerate the investigation, resolution and prosecution of cases.
