Описание: After walking past this line for years, I finally decided to rap down and see if it would be worth an “elevator start” since the bottom isn’t climbable. Alas, I was blown away with how good the climbing is. Stick clip the first bolt and aid to the start of the arete and then it’s full-throttle lip slappin’ past five bolts and the anchor. What a sweet climb. Not a typical start to a sport line but it’s pretty common on limestone walls where the first 15’ or so of various caves is not climbable for a variety of reasons. So the grading of this route would be something like A0/5.12c. Those flakes you see missing had already fallen off naturally while others were pulled off with a paint scraper. Very little cleaning involved with this one. The formation has been dubbed The Looking Glass (or spotting scope) used by early sailors, hence the name Age of Sail. It’s worth a look-up if you’re curious. Cool stuff. Anyway, enjoy the video and come try this route!
