Описание: On this day (Jan 30, 2019) a very potent arctic cold front was pushing in rapidly from the west, leading a deep continental polar airmass. Despite there being very little in the way of heat energy, high lapse rates with impressive lift along the front allowed for the formation of thin convective bands of precip that fell as snow. As is common with convective snow squalls, their duration was brief, but they packed a punch. Temporary whiteout conditions occurred when heavy snow rates combined with strong westerly winds associated with the frontal passage. Temps dropped from about 29 degrees at 3pm to about 0 by 11pm. Wind chills bottomed out at 20 below overnight.
